Biography
Gayle is a paediatric doctor and the lead for the Children’s Emergency Department at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.
She worked as the Paediatric Lead for the the Emergency Department and Named Doctor for Child Protection at the North Middlesex University Hospital in Tottenham, London 2013-2021. It was here that she first recognised the need for the backpacks for children in hardship and entering emergency foster care in this highly deprived area of London.
She won an NHS70 award for the Best Urgent and Emergency Care Doctor in the region and was recognised in the Evening Standard’s Project 1000 as one of the most influential healthcare workers in London for her work with children affected by knife crime, poverty and abuse.
